The final ballot for the WTO Secretary General's election in which the head of the Trade Bargaining Headquarters Myung-hee Myung-hee was running has ended.

It is said that the Nigerian candidate, the opponent of General Manager Yoo, is said to be ahead, but the final result is still in flux as the United States has expressed objection to the Nigerian candidate.

WTO closed the vote for the secretary-general election and reported the results to each member state.

Although the results of the vote have not been officially confirmed, foreign media reports that Nigeria's Candidate Okonjoyweala surpassed South Korea's head of trade negotiations Myung-hee Myung-hee.

Reuters reported that the WTO has offered candidate Okonjoyweala to lead the WTO.

Okonjoyweala, a former Nigerian finance minister, is reportedly claiming to have won more than 100 votes among the 164 members of the WTO.

Nigerian media are also making the election of their country's candidates.

After confirming the result of the vote, the Korean government is thinking about future countermeasures.

This is because under the election rules for the WTO secretary general, the election does not end immediately if you lose the vote.

The WTO requires the consent of all countries to elect a secretary-general.

Because of this, it seems that the Korean government is confirming the willingness of the US government, which is known to have supported Director Yoo, to exercise the veto.

If the U.S., which has a strong influence over the WTO, rejects Candidate Okonjoyweala, it could afford more time for further consultations, but it is unclear whether it will be able to persuade the majority of the member states that voted the other candidate.
