In a tweet published Tuesday evening, the Turkish Minister of Culture, Serdar Cam, wrote in French: "@Charlie_Hebdo_ You are bastards .. You are sons of bitches ..." In the early afternoon, the tweet had been "withdrawn in France because of local laws", we could read on Twitter.

"There is something indecent in the current context marked and by the trial of the Charlie Hebdo attacks and by the tragedy of the assassination of Samuel Paty to add fuel to the fire by threatening the editorial staff of Charlie" , explained Frédéric Potier.

"The question of the responsibility of social networks" on the table

The interministerial delegate for the fight against racism, anti-Semitism and anti-LGBT hatred also directly challenged Twitter.

The message "nauseating from this high Turkish dignitary comply with your terms of use? @DILCRAH will take justice on its side. We will not give in to these attempts at intimidation. #ToujoursCharlie", he said tweeted.

"This raises the question of the responsibility of social networks," Frédéric Potier told AFP, "since there, these insults are broadcast on Twitter, which in its own rules of use prohibits harassment and clearly illegal behavior. I kindly and strongly call on Twitter to uphold its own rules. "
