The Public Prosecution Office: It is prohibited to endanger the mental, psychological or physical integrity of the child

The State Prosecutor's Office made clear, through a tweet it published today on its social media accounts, the crime of endangering a child's mental, psychological or physical integrity.

The Public Prosecution noted that, according to Article 34 of Federal Law No. 3 of 2016 Concerning the Child Rights Law “Wadima”, it is prohibited to endanger the mental, psychological, physical or moral integrity of the child whether the person in charge of his care abandons him or leaves him in a place or care institution without obligation. Or refusing to accept the child from the person in charge of his care, or refraining from treating him and taking care of his affairs, as according to Article 60 of the same law, anyone who violates this is punished with imprisonment or a fine of not less than five thousand dirhams.

The publication of these legal tweets comes within the framework of the Public Prosecution’s keenness to enhance the legal culture among all members of society, and to raise the level of public awareness of laws, thus contributing to reducing the percentage of violations resulting from ignorance of the laws.
