The event took place at the end of August this year.

According to a report to the Swedish Work Environment Authority, the driver fell asleep on a priority alarm that came on the morning twig after the driver drove all night and parts of the evening before.

In the report, the driver describes that he was very tired due to the workload and that he tried to stay awake but that he must have nodded.

Colleague took the wheel

The driver describes that he woke up when the car was driving on part of the branch.

The ambulance colleague must have grabbed the steering wheel to avoid the car ending up in the ditch.

It is not clear from the report if any patient was in the ambulance at the time.
