"We are the 184th regiment of the 62nd Division of the 21st Army." Seeing the four words "Resisting US Aid Korea", 91-year-old Chen Changfa suddenly said the number of his unit.

In recent years, his memory has declined severely, he can't remember the battle, and he can hardly hear any sound.

Usually communication is done by writing the words on paper and showing them to him.

The veteran is old, and the military medal on his chest records that period of fighting and fighting.

On February 7, 1953, Chairman Mao Zedong delivered a speech: "As long as U.S. imperialism does not give up its unreasonable demands and conspiracy to expand aggression, the Chinese people's resolve is to fight with the Korean people forever."

On June 13th of this year, Chen Changfa went to North Korea with his troops to participate in the war, and was responsible for digging tunnels in the black bridge and maintaining smooth roads.

At that time, in order to fight the aggressors headed by the United States honestly and sign the armistice agreement, the Chinese People's Volunteers were conducting a summer counterattack.

On the night of July 21st, with heavy rain, a huge boulder rolled down from a mountain near Heiqiao and blocked the middle of the road from Pine Forest to Xiangyuan, blocking more than 100 military vehicles.

There is an urgent need for shells and other materials ahead, and the wounded and sick must be transported later. This road must not be broken!

The platoon leader Chen Changfa called the party members of the platoon to hold a "Zhuge Liang Meeting" and proposed a way to clear the road-to blast it.

"The rocks in North Korea are all'Kingang Rock'. If you hit it with a hammer, you can only leave a white spot on the stone." In order to get the shot hole as soon as possible, the soldiers rushed to grab the hammer. From the beginning, every 50 hammers were exchanged. People gradually changed to every 80 hammers, and later they were willing to give the hammers to others after hitting more than 100 hammers.

With a loud bang, the nearly 20-ton boulder was blown into pieces. The officers and soldiers rushed up, pulled it with ropes and carried them on their shoulders... At 5 in the morning, road transportation returned to normal.

"It is the duty of a soldier to obey orders and commands." Chen Changfa led the entire team to complete the task, and was awarded the third-class collective merit. He himself was also recorded as the third-class merit once.

On July 27, 1953, after the signing of the "Korea Armistice Agreement", Chen Changfa was assigned to the armed patrol team on the 38th line to take up patrol tasks and maintain the armistice order.

The topography of the 38th line is complicated, and some sections are not clearly marked.

The area where Chen Changfa was patrolling was located in a ravine. The enemy and our positions were facing each other, and everyone on the other side could see clearly.

The enemy often takes a series of provocative actions-

Someone deliberately ran more than 10 steps across the 38th line, and then ran back, tempting us to shoot, picking up the bullets, and planting us.

Chen Changfa and his comrade-in-arms were in places where the other side often crossed the line, using the night cover to dig traps, capture prisoners, and obtain evidence...

Some people raised their feet high, showing off their big leather boots.

Chen Changfa and his comrades smashed the tanks that were destroyed on the forward positions with stones, proclaiming that the Chinese and North Korean people are fighting a just war.

The tit-for-tat struggle dealt a heavy blow to the opposing arrogance.

After the war, Chen Changfa adjusted his job several times.

"He never talked to us about the army, and every time he left under an order," Chen Changfa's wife said.

In 1982, after retiring from the post of deputy political commissar of the Armed Forces Department of Dawukou District, Shizuishan City, Ningxia, Chen Changfa actively devoted himself to national defense education and gave more than 50 revolutionary traditional education reports for schools, institutions, enterprises and institutions, with an audience of 50,000 to 60,000.

"Clearly know that the enemy's artillery is in front, we have to go too, without hesitation, this is the soldier." Forgetting the danger of the bullet rain, forgetting the arduous struggle, this sentence has been deeply rooted in the veteran Chen Changfa Bottom of my heart.
