For her part, the spokesperson for the health sector in the country, Dr. Farida Al Hosani, confirmed that the telemedicine system contributed to significantly reducing the number of patients at various medical facilities, especially the elderly and those with chronic diseases, which allowed these facilities to mobilize their human and material energies to face the repercussions of the spread of the virus. Dr. Farida Al Hosani pointed to three main aspects of using the telemedicine system during the previous period, namely, firstly dealing with the elderly and people with chronic diseases and avoiding them leaving the house as much as possible in order to protect them and protect them from the virus, and secondly in the delivery of medicines to homes after conducting a remote medical consultation. She said that the telemedicine system has been effectively harnessed in facilitating the work of vaccination programs in addition to implementing prevention and health awareness programs.

She explained that the implementation of the comprehensive electronic medical file project for patients in the UAE contributed to the success of the telemedicine system that was implemented by many health authorities during the period of the spread of the new Corona virus, based on the complete medical information provided by this file about the patient, which the doctor can obtain On it directly, regardless of the place where the treatment was received, thus providing the possibility of providing the medical solution through various electronic media.

Since the beginning of the spread of the new Corona virus, the health authorities in the country have revealed many initiatives aimed at providing health and treatment advisory services to patients remotely through various technologies and smart media, around the clock.

The Ministry of Health and Prevention has launched an electronic platform called "The Virtual Doctor of Covid-19", through which people can assess the symptoms that appear on them and whether these symptoms are related to the emerging corona virus "Covid-19", or not.

In addition to that, the Ministry has developed the services of specialized clinics and turned them into electronic using digital information and communication technologies within its treatment system for telemedicine in all its hospitals in response to the precautionary measures and measures to prevent the emerging corona virus "Covid-19".

For its part, Abu Dhabi Health Services Company "SEHA" launched a telemedicine service for outpatients last March, in coordination and cooperation with the Department of Health in Abu Dhabi.

And in December 2019, the Dubai Health Authority launched the smart service “Doctor for Every Citizen”, which allows UAE citizens to take free medical consultations remotely by communicating with the doctor by voice and video without the need to visit health centers.
