The Paris Bourse was in the red at mid-session Monday (-0.52%), at the end of a morning marked by many changes in trend and a resurgence of health concerns.

The CAC 40 index lost 25.50 points to 4,884.14 points at 12:00 p.m. (11:00 a.m. GMT).

Friday, its sharp rise of 1.20% had limited losses over the week to 0.53%.

The Parisian rating was volatile, opening at -1.32% to climb back to -0.30%, before plunging back a little and fluctuating around its mid-day level.

"The appetite for risk has decreased considerably today" notes Pierre Veyret, technical analyst at Activ'Trades.

The trend is the same in Europe, where Frankfurt fell by 2.24%, weighed down by the revision of forecasts of the software manufacturer SAP, while London was down 0.40%.

US index futures were also moving in the red, with the broader S&P 500 index falling 0.90%.

Throughout the week, the American markets will be open from 2:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Paris time, due to the shift in the date of the time change on both sides of the Atlantic.

Several factors explain the caution, starting with the worsening health situation which has led many European countries to implement restrictive measures.

In addition, the market seems to have given up hope of seeing an economic stimulus plan in the United States before the presidential election of November 3.

"We can expect volatility, but no clear trend until the election is over," said Neil Wilson, analyst at Markets.com

Especially since the week will be busy, with many business results.

Markets are also on the alert ahead of the European Central Bank's monetary meeting on Thursday.

Even if analysts do not expect any new measures, its president Christine Lagarde "should however strongly affirm its willingness to make additional monetary support measures at the end of the year", anticipates Franck Dixmier, director of bond management at Allianz Global Investors.

IT SAP SAPS

The German software giant SAP plunged 18.25% to 102.10 euros on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, of which it represents 11% of its total value.

He lowered his forecast for 2020 results on Sunday, due to the increase in cases of Covid-19 infection.

In France, the technology sector was also suffering: Capgemini lost 4.25% to 101.30 euros, Worldline 4.26% to 66.92 euros and Atos 1.26% to 64.40 euros.

OIL TANKERS UNDER THE PRESSURE OF BARREL PRICES

Oil stocks were paying the price for oil under pressure due to the drop in demand due to the pandemic and the rise in Libyan production.

Royal Dutch Shell ("B" share) sold 1.19% to 960 pence.

In Paris, Total lost 1.35% to 27.70 euros.

On the SBF 120, TechnipFMC fell 2.87% to 5.49 euros.
