The Iranian health authorities announced that the capacity of hospitals in many Iranian regions to absorb people infected with the emerging coronavirus (Covid-19) is running out, while the virus has started to cause one death every four minutes.

Yesterday, the Iranian Ministry of Health announced the registration of 337 deaths, and 5,960 new cases of "Corona", within 24 hours, and a news tape on state television stated that this rate means that there is a death of "Covid-19", every four minutes.

The spokeswoman for the ministry, Sima Sadat Larry, stated that the total number of infections exceeded 574,000, while the total deaths from HIV infection reached 32,953 cases.

She pointed out that 4,982 of the injured are in a critical condition, while the number of people recovering has exceeded 459,000.

Health authorities in Iran complain of laxity in the restrictions of social distancing, and the Deputy Minister of Health, Iraj Harirchi, has warned that the "pandemic" may cause 600 deaths per day during the coming weeks, unless Iranians adhere to the country's health protocols.

The head of the anti-Coronavirus operations team, Ali Reza Zali, told Iranian television that some hospitals did not have beds to treat any new patients, and added: “Doctors and nurses are tired, I urge everyone to abide by the rules.”

It is noteworthy that schools, mosques, stores, restaurants, and other public institutions in Tehran have been closed since the third of October, and state television said that the authorities decided to extend the closure to next November 20, in light of the continuing record rates of infection and death by "Covid-19".

Officials stated that strict measures and restrictions would be imposed in at least 43 regions in Iran for a week, due to the worrying infection rates.

The total deaths from the "virus" in Iran exceeds 32,000.
