Check for COVID-19

Infectionist and vaccinologist Yevgeny Timakov spoke about the ways in which Russians can test themselves for coronavirus, stressing that testing should be done at a certain time.

“The tests are absolutely informative.

It all depends on the day of the illness.

If a person has just been in contact with a patient and begins to get sick himself, then a PCR test should be done.

A smear is taken, and we look to see if there is a viral infection, foci of reproduction, the antigenic composition of this coronavirus, ”he said in an interview with Sputnik radio.

According to him, the PCR test should be done in the first two weeks of illness, and then you should check yourself for the presence of antibodies in the body.

Antibodies begin to form on the 7-10th day of illness, ”added Timakov.
