The number of new infections with the Corona virus exceeded the barrier of 43.3 million infected globally, and the number of deaths reached one million and 158 thousand and 805, according to the latest data provided by the World Meter website (worldometers).

Many countries of the world are sweeping a second wave of the epidemic, and European countries have recorded record daily infection rates, as well as the situation in the United States, in which President Donald Trump confirmed that the country is making progress in confronting the virus, despite the significant increase in the number of infections.

Trump told a crowd of his supporters in North Carolina: "We are getting over it, we have vaccines and we have everything, even without vaccines we are getting over it and the epidemic will end."

On Friday, the United States recorded more than 84,000 cases of the disease, and about 80,000 cases on Saturday, and this is the largest recorded in a single day since the start of the pandemic that has killed about 225,000 Americans so far.

Pandemic in Europe

And in France, the Ministry of Health said - in a statement on Sunday - that the country had recorded more than 52,000 new confirmed cases of Coronavirus during the past 24 hours, after a record number of 45,422 people infected on Saturday.

The ministry added that 116 people died due to infection with the Coronavirus during the same period, compared with 137 on Saturday.

In Germany, the virus continues to spread, as the number of new infections exceeded 10,000 on Sunday.

Hundreds of security personnel deployed on Sunday in Berlin to break up a demonstration against the restrictions imposed to contain the outbreak of the new Corona virus.

About two thousand people gathered in the afternoon in the German capital at the invitation of the largest movements opposing preventive measures such as wearing a mask, and the demonstrators roamed the city center, dispersed in several groups.

In Italy, Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte announced new measures to combat the Corona virus, in a final attempt to avoid a new nationwide lockdown.

Conte signed a new decree to impose stricter restrictions to curb the accelerating spread of the Corona virus, which is the closure of restaurants, cafes and ice cream shops, and the decree will take effect from Monday until November 24.

The new measures recommend avoiding unnecessary travel, especially by public transport, and excludes those with urgent medical conditions and travel for work or study.

And on Sunday, Italy recorded 21,273 new cases of Corona, the highest rate in one day, and the total in it rose to 525,782 cases, while 128 new deaths were recorded, bringing the total in the country to 37,338 deaths.

Popular "relaxation" in Algeria

In the Arab world, the Algerian government condemned what it described as a popular "relaxation" in terms of adherence to measures to prevent the Corona virus, which is accelerating the daily infection rate.

"After controlling the health situation and recording very encouraging results, today there are signs of relaxation that invite us to fear the re-emergence of infection hotspots," said the statement of the Algerian Prime Minister Abdelaziz Jarad.

The prime minister's statement stressed the necessity of "continuing to exercise individual and collective responsibility to protect the lives of the sick or vulnerable, and the lives of our citizens, and to share the burden that our valiant medical and paramedical teams bear in particular."

Algeria - with a population of 44 million - has recorded 56,143 cases of Covid-19 since the first outbreak of the epidemic on its soil on February 25, including 1914 deaths and about 40 thousand recoveries.

In Egypt, on Sunday, the Ministry of Health recorded 143 new cases of Coronavirus and 12 deaths, compared to 167 cases and 11 deaths on Saturday.
