The president of the LREM group in the Assembly and former Minister of the Interior Christophe Castaner has tested positive for Covid-19 and is currently "in isolation", parliamentary sources said Monday evening.
According to an AFP count, at least a dozen deputies have tested positive for the coronavirus in recent days.
The National Assembly does not communicate the number of positive cases, under medical confidentiality.
The institution underlines the measures taken with the half-gauge imposed for the deputies in committee as in the hemicycle, and the wearing of the obligatory mask.
Unions of parliamentary collaborators deplored "serious gaps in information" concerning "positive cases".
