A 17-year-old teenager died of his injuries Thursday in hospital after a heavy fall the day before.

The young man would have slipped while walking on the roof of the former Chanterelle cannery installed in the port of Rosmeur, in Douarnenez (Finistère), reports

Le Télégramme

.

The teenager was presumably participating in a nighttime urban exploration session (also known as urbex) when he allegedly fell from the roof.

His head would have hit the ground violently.

The emergency services took care of him in serious condition.

Abandoned since 2013 and the move to its new factory, the Chanterelle cannery is known for the manufacture of sardines in oil of the Connétable brand.

Work to dismantle the chimney, already planned, must be carried out next week to secure the chimney of the old site founded in 1853. The cannery is presented as the oldest factory of sardines in oil in the world.
