After Li Jianxi was admitted to the hospital after a heart attack in 2014, he was hospitalized for several years.

  Lee Kin-hee was hospitalized at Samsung Seoul Hospital due to acute myocardial infarction in May 2014. It is reported that he can still breathe spontaneously until recently. He is awake for 15-19 hours a day and continues to receive rehabilitation treatment. However, due to the deterioration of his condition, the rescue failed. Passed away on October 25, 2020.

  According to Samsung’s statement, Lee Kin-hee’s family was with him when he died, including Lee Jae-yong, vice chairman of Samsung Electronics.

Since Lee Jianxi suffered a heart attack, Lee Jae-yong has been in charge of the company.

  Li Jianxi was born in Japan in 1942 in Gyeongsangnam-do, North Korea. After returning from studying in the United States in 1966, he joined Samsung’s Toyo Broadcasting Corporation. Two years later, he served as Director of Toyo Broadcasting. In 1978, he was promoted to Vice Chairman of Samsung C&T, and the following year to Vice Chairman of Samsung Group long.

  In 1987, after the death of his father Li Bingzhe, Li Jianxi took over as the chairman of Samsung Group.
