Declare a health emergency in Spain until early May

Today, Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez declared a health emergency, until the beginning of next May, accompanied by a curfew across the country, with the exception of the Canary Islands, in an effort to control the second wave of Covid-19.

"We are in a very difficult situation," Sanchez said in a televised intervention at the end of an extraordinary ministerial session, after Spain had crossed the threshold of one million Covid-19 cases and faced an epidemic boom that seemed out of control.
