US President Donald Trump made a tough debut at the UN on Tuesday afternoon, threatening to "completely destroy North Korea".

"Rocket man (Kim Jong-Un) is on a suicide mission, both for himself and for his entire regime," Trump told the General Assembly.

Shortly after the end of the speech, Sweden's former Foreign Minister Carl Bildt tweeted his reactions.

"President Trump's speech revives a turbo version of the 'axis of evil', now abbreviated to North Korea and Iran.

Dangerous and simplistic ", he writes.

"Supported by Netanyahu, it seems that Trump wants the United States to declare war on Iran.

Europe will suffer.

Everyone will lose out on this ", Bildt also tweeted.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu tweeted his support for Trump, first in Hebrew, and then in English.

"President Trump is telling the truth about the dangers that await the world," he said.

"In 30 years at the UN, I have never heard a bolder speech."

According to Trump, the United States is ready to "intervene further" if Venezuela's socialist regime continues to oppress the population.

This caused the country's foreign minister Jorge Arreaza to react strongly, something that was later reflected on his twitter account.

"We did not think that President Trump was speaking as if he were the general of all the armies of the whole world.

"On the one hand, Trump is talking about peace, on the other hand, he is threatening nations with war."
