On the occasion of World Polio Day, which happened yesterday, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, greeted the heroes working on the front lines, noting their continued performance of their duties despite the current challenges.

His Highness said in a tweet on “Twitter”: “On World Polio Day, we salute the heroes working on the front lines, who continue their duties despite the challenges posed by the Corona pandemic.

With concerted efforts and support for global initiatives, we will be able to eradicate polio.

The UAE is a key partner in protecting the world's children from this disease.

Poliomyelitis is one of the most dangerous viruses that infect the nervous system of children under five years of age, as it strikes a child within three hours of time, which medicine cannot treat after infection.

Statistics have confirmed that the infection rate has decreased as a result of the vaccine, as it has become binding in various countries of the world, in order to protect the health of children from the risk of paralysis.

The UAE campaign to vaccinate against polio comes within the framework of the Emirati Project to Help Pakistan, which was launched based on the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in order to extend a hand of humanitarian aid and assistance to the people Pakistani, and support their development efforts towards achieving a better future.

On World Polio Day, we salute the heroes working on the front lines who continue their duties despite the challenges posed by the Corona pandemic ... with concerted efforts and support for global initiatives, we will be able to eradicate polio ... the UAE is a key partner in protecting the world's children from this disease.
