The Israeli occupation authorities canceled the decision to freeze the administrative detention of the hunger-striking prisoner Maher Al-Akhras, and transferred him from Kaplan hospital inside to Ramla Military Prison Hospital on Friday.

They broke into the room of the prisoner - on hunger strike for the 90th day in a row - Maher Al-Akhras in "Kaplan" hospital near Tel Aviv, and took him to the clinic of Ramla Military Prison.
Al-Akhras's wife said that Kaplan Hospital decided not to keep her striking captive husband under treatment, under the pretext that he refused treatment and cooperated with medical teams, and on the pretext that the large number of visitors he had put him and the rest of the patients in the department at risk.

The Israeli Military Prosecution and Intelligence Service decided to renew the administrative detention against Al-Akhras, to expire on November 26.
Last Sunday, October 18, the Israeli Prisons Administration transferred 60 Palestinian prisoners to solitary confinement, after they started a strike in solidarity with a colleague who was dismissed by the occupation authorities.

The Palestinian Prisoners Club - in a statement published by Anadolu Agency - said that the prisoners belonged to the Popular Front, and were transferred to solitary confinement cells in several prisons, after the failure of the dialogue with the occupation prison administration.
The statement stated that the aim of the prisoners is to end the isolation of the prisoner Wael Al-Jaghoub - and a group of prisoners - that has been going on for 4 months, as well as to support the prisoner Maher Al-Akhras, who is on hunger strike, to reject his administrative detention.
On 27 July, al-Akhras was arrested, and the Israeli authorities transferred him to administrative detention (without trial), which led him to declare a strike until his release.

Deterioration of the health of captive Maher Al-Akhras
Palestinian prisoner Maher Al-Akhras continues his open hunger strike to refuse his administrative detention, and Al-Akhras said in a previous letter that he would not eat food except at his home, and demanded that he be allowed to see his mother and children after he reached a dangerous health stage.
On the 12th of this month, the occupation court rejected again the request to release al-Akhras, and submitted a proposal in essence leaving the door open for the possibility of continuing his administrative detention and renewing it, on the condition that he stop his strike.
For his part, Stefan Dujarric, spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, quoted the UN Coordinator for the Peace Process in the Middle East, Nikolay Mladenov, his deep concern about the deteriorating health of the dumb prisoner.
Dujarric said that Mladenov renewed his call for Israel to file charges or immediately release all administrative detainees.
According to Palestinian human rights organizations, the number of Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons is about 4,400, including 39 women and about 155 children, and the number of administrative detainees (without charge) is about 350, according to official Palestinian reports.
