October 24, 2020 "I asked the Government to provide additional resources for post-earthquake reconstruction that will come from the Recovery Fund".

This was announced this morning by the special commissioner, Giovanni Legnini, during the videoconference with the mayors of the crater of the regions involved in the earthquake four years ago.

The meeting, coordinated by the mayor of Ancona, president of Anci Marche and regional Anci coordinator, Valeria Mancinelli, was attended by over 100 mayors of the four regions involved with interventions by the representatives of the regional Anci - Riccardo Varone (Lazio), Nicola Alemanno (Umbria) and Abruzzo Gianguido D'Alberto (Umbria) -, of the mayors of Amatrice, Montalto delle Marche, Camerino, Colledara, Appignano del Tronto, Arquata del Tronto, Treia, Pievetorina and Ascoli Piceno.

"With reference to the powers in derogation - said Legnini - I am preparing three new ordinances of a general nature to then proceed with the Consolidated Law which will open a new phase".

"We are at the decisive turning point to win the challenge of implementing the commissioner's provisions".

Giovanni Legnini, commissioner for post-earthquake reconstruction of 2016, said in videoconference with all the mayors of the crater of the regions involved, to deepen the ways to make the best use of the regulatory tools reached with the synergistic work between the commissioner structure, the Regions and coordination of Anci.

"In these days I have written to all of you mayors - recalled Legnini - to urge you to inform your citizens and technicians that there will be no further exceptions to request minor damages on the date set for November 30".

Among the next steps announced by the commissioner, in agreement with the Anci, there is a close meeting with the technicians "to facilitate compliance with this date by putting them in a position to act quickly as their role is decisive in this phase".

Legnini acknowledged that "an interview with the Government and Parliament which I consider satisfactory" is taking place.

The funds obtained to stabilize the staff were also mentioned at the meeting.

However, the Anci noted that some requests contained in the document sent to the Prime Minister Conte have not yet been adopted.

"On this too - said Legnini - I received information that in the next budget law there will also be space to accommodate some of these requests".
