The police suspect that it is the same people who are behind several false, ringing alarms about shootings and serious acts of violence in the district in recent months.

- Every day we have a high frequency of what we consider to be false alarms where it is alleged that everything from shootings to cars burning.

Information that is simply not correct, says deputy local police chief Erik Åberg to the newspaper.

Costs resources

With reference to the secrecy of the preliminary investigation, he cannot comment on who is suspected to be behind the false alarm, but says that it costs the police time and resources.

The false alarms also affect the conditions for prioritizing among the alarms.

- Now we know the phenomenon so we value every single call as we always do.

But some of the events are described so spectacularly that one can guess that it is not true.

Regardless, we need to take checks in a very large number of cases, says Erik Åberg.
