In the summer of 2019, it was discovered that tools, machines and car parts worth almost SEK 200,000 had disappeared from the municipal warehouse in Åstorp.

A police report was made at the beginning of the year, but the investigation was closed this summer.

This is something that the opposition has not been informed about by the political leadership - but only heard about in other ways a couple of months ago.

- It is extremely remarkable and very sad that we have not discovered this for ourselves in politics.

We often talk about having an open dialogue with each other and informing each other on various important issues and then you do not do it on this important issue, says Åsa Holmén (L), member of the municipal board.

"Would not talk about it"

That it has not been addressed in politics, says Ronny Sandberg (S), chairman of the municipal board, is due to the fact that the police would not be disturbed in their work.

- When I received information about this that it was reported to the police, I was told that it was pre-investigation secrecy and that we would not talk further about this, he says.

The opposition demands an answer

Åsa Holmén (L) and Roger Nielsen (M) have now written an interpellation to the municipal board where they demand answers from the ruling politicians.

- They are about to get answers about what happened and what routines have been taken, says Ronny Sandberg.

After all, it is the taxpayers' money that was used to buy tools and machines that could not be found, have you done enough to find out what happened?

- I think that the municipality has taken up the issue when they have discovered this, we have changed routines, we have established what we think has disappeared and reported it to the police.

We have come to the end of the road in this matter, says Ronny Sandberg.
