What remains authorized

Travel between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m.

If the hypothesis of local reconfinements is no longer ruled out by the government, no restriction of this type has yet been decided.

It is therefore still authorized to circulate freely from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

Take transport to and from work.

When announcing the implementation of the first curfew measures on October 14, Emmanuel Macron specified that no transport restrictions would be introduced, in particular "because there are people who will continue to work at night , or in the evening, or in the early morning ".

You can therefore, if your job requires it, go to your place of work, or leave it during curfew, and use public transport for that purpose.

Take a vacation and move to another region.

While the All Saints' Day holidays are in full swing, it is still authorized, since no confinement has been decreed, to travel throughout the territory.

Frequent restaurants, museums, cinemas.

These places remain open.

You can therefore continue to go there, provided, of course, you are home at 9 p.m.

What is prohibited

Travel during curfew without justification.

In the absence of an exit certificate for health or professional reasons, you are not allowed to travel between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m.

This ban also applies to sports activities such as jogging and cycling.

Go to bars.

In high alert areas, bars remain closed, unlike restaurants.

What are the exceptions?

It is still possible to leave home between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., but only for health or professional reasons, and with a certificate of departure.

This certificate is only valid for one hour for travel unrelated to work.

Go to the hospital, to the pharmacy, or to visit a dependent relative.

It is possible to circulate during the hours of the curfew to "go to the hospital or to get drugs" in a pharmacy on duty, specifies the government.

It is also authorized to visit a loved one in a situation of dependency.

For professional reasons, do not forget to provide proof.

If travel for professional reasons is still possible during the curfew, you must have, in addition to the certificate, a document or your professional card.

Take a plane or a train.

If your train or plane arrives at or leaves after 9 p.m., you can travel after 9 p.m., provided you are able to present your ticket to the police, as well as your certificate.

Walk your pet.

It is also possible to go out for a walk with your pet, provided you have a certificate.

Where can I find the exit certificate?

The exit certificate is available on the website of the Ministry of the Interior.

As during confinement, it is downloadable and to be completed on his phone, printable and to be completed by hand or to be copied on free paper.

What is the risk if the curfew is not respected?

Failure to comply with the curfew is punishable by a fine of 135 euros and can go up to 3,750 euros in the event of a repeat offense.

Thursday, Prime Minister Jean Castex announced that the police had carried out 32,033 checks since last Saturday and issued 4,777 fines for non-compliance with the curfew.
