On October 17, Azerbaijani presidential aide Hikmet Hajiyev said that after a missile strike on the Azerbaijani city of Ganja, more than ten people were killed.

Azerbaijan and Armenia announced a temporary humanitarian truce from 00:00 on October 18.

The parties later accused each other of violating the truce.
