Dead animals float on the shores of the Kamchatka Peninsula

Recently, dead animals have been washed up on the beaches.   

- It is most likely that it has natural causes.

Everyone talks about algal blooms, but it also has its causes.

This year it has been very hot, says hydrobiologist Alexei Tokranov. 

Geographer Ilja Svirid believes that it is impossible for algal blooms to cause such mass deaths in the sea.

- Tens of tons of toxic substances have been dumped at this site. There is no other source of toxins of this magnitude that could have poisoned the sea animals in the whole of Kamchatka, he says.
