Calabria towards curfew and distance learning

A new ordinance of the Calabria Region should arrive today which provides for further limitations to deal with the coronavirus emergency. The acting president of the regional council, Nino Spirlì, in the next few hours, should adopt and sign an ordinance that provides for a "curfew" from 24 to 5, distance learning (Dad) in middle schools and high schools (while remains in presence in kindergartens and elementary schools), limitations to visits to hospitals, health facilities and assisted health residences (RSA), and also the suspension of non-urgent specialist visits. The ordinance, Spirlì announced, will remain in force for two weeks, to be re-proposed before the Christmas period in case of new spikes in infections. Before the signing of the provision, the acting president, in contact with the head of the regional Coronavirus task force, Antonio Belcastro, initiated a series of institutional discussions and today the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, will meet again. The ordinance is necessary in consideration of the exponential increase in positive cases of coronavirus recorded in recent days in Calabria, with "peaks" of over 100 infections per day (187 yesterday), much higher than the regional average since the beginning of the emergency, with a consequent increase in hospitalizations, in the ordinary regime and in intensive care. Spirlì's goal, at the helm of the Calabria Region for a few days following the disappearance of the governor Jole Santelli, is to prevent the spread of the virus and thus avoid "total closures during the Christmas period". Precisely in this direction, Spirlì himself in recent days issued an order to declare three red zones in the regional territory (Celico and Casali del Manco in Cosentino, the migrant camp of Rosarno in Reggino).
