The investigating judges have completed their investigations into the violence of May 1, 2018 accused of Alexandre Benalla, the starting point of the scandal which bears the name of the former collaborator of President Macron, we learned Friday from a judicial source, confirming information from the Parisian.

After 27 months of investigation, the investigating magistrates announced this decision Thursday to the parties, a prelude to the requisitions of the Paris prosecutor's office and to the final decision of the judges on the holding of a trial.

Five people are indicted in this investigation, opened for "violence in meetings", "interference in the exercise of a public function", "public port and without the right to regulated insignia", "concealment of misappropriation of images from a video protection system "and" concealment of breach of professional secrecy ".

Three former senior officers of the Paris Police Prefecture are also threatened with trial.

They are involved in delivering the images of the incidents at Place de la Contrescarpe to Alexandre Benalla, the day Le Monde revealed the scandal on July 18, 2018.

MM.

Benalla and Crase dispute the violence, believing they have helped the police to arrest demonstrators who threw projectiles at them.

Five demonstrators became civil parties, including a couple arrested at Place de la Contrescarpe by the two men.

This couple was sentenced in February 2019 to a fine of 500 euros for throwing projectiles at the police on the day of the incident.

Mr. Benalla, who created a consulting company in economic intelligence after his dismissal from the Elysee, is currently targeted by six legal proceedings.
