The leader of Gran Canaria Andrew Albicy was selected Friday by the coach of the France team Vincent Collet, in a group of 13 players, to play at the end of November the two qualifying matches for the Euro-2022 basketball .

The Blues, bronze medalists at the 2019 World Cup in China, will face Great Britain in Pau on Friday November 27, then Germany on Sunday November 29, as part of the qualifications for Euro-2022 basketball.

The International Federation (Fiba) has decided to combine the qualifying matches on the same site for the international windows in November and February.

Pau will host Group G matches, which includes France, along with Germany, Great Britain and Montenegro.

The host city for the final qualifying window in mid-February has yet to be announced.

Among the players selected by Vincent Collet, who must once again do without NBA and Euroleague players, are Albicy, the most capped player in the group with 62 matches in the blue jersey, as well as Axel Julien (JDA Dijon, 13 selections) and David Michineau (Boulogne-Levallois, 2 selections), on the position of leader.

Jerry Boutsiele and Nicolas Lang (top French scorer at the start of the season in Elite with 20.2 points on average), both CSP Limoges players, could make their debut with the France team.

Germany, automatically qualified as host country, and the two best ranked teams of this group G, will play Euro-2022 (from September 1 to 18 in Georgia, Italy, the Czech Republic and Germany).
