It was shortly after 21.00 on Wednesday evening, July 15, that the 20-year-old was chased into a bus where he was then beaten and stabbed with a large number of stab wounds.
Two men were arrested immediately at the scene when a police patrol happened to be nearby and a third person shortly afterwards.
All three, a father and his two sons, both under the age of 18, were later arrested on suspicion of murder.
- I mean that the father and the sons together and in agreement have killed the 20-year-old, in a very serious way in a public environment.
All three are involved and the investigation shows that two of them have used knives while the third has been involved in other ways in the planning and execution of the act, says chamber prosecutor Lindha Strömberg in a press release.
Suspected murder is being investigated as honor killings
According to the prosecutor, the crime has clear motives for honor and one of the motives behind the suspected murder has been to preserve the family's honor.
- The father experienced that the 20-year-old had had a relationship with the father's wife.
The motive for the honor is an aggravating circumstance, says chamber prosecutor Lindha Strömberg.
The three accused men have denied the murder through their lawyers and claimed self-defense as they themselves must have experienced the situation as threatening.
