Sharjah Municipality is subject to 8,519 new parking fees

The Sharjah City Municipality announced the launch of more than 400 touch-enabled public parking fee payment devices, as a continuation of its efforts to digitally transform all services it provides and facilitate customers, as these devices are considered a qualitative addition to the fee payment devices and another option of payment options provided by the municipality. Noting that the total parking lots that have been subjected to fees and will be subjected during the current year amounted to 8,519 parking lots in different areas of Sharjah.

In detail, the Director General of the Sharjah City Municipality, Thabet Al-Tarifi, affirmed that the launch of devices to pay public parking fees with touch technology is considered the first of its kind in the Middle East. It also comes in line with the municipality’s plans and directions for a complete digital transformation of all services it provides through the “Sabek” program. It has come a long way, based on its keenness to provide digital services that facilitate the customers and save them time and effort, as all sectors and departments of the municipality are working hard to achieve this goal

Assistant Director General of the Customer Service Sector, Khalid bin Falah Al-Suwaidi, said that the parking service comes within the framework of the Sharjah Municipality’s keenness to provide public parking spaces in various areas of the city of Sharjah and make them available to the public at all times, and subject them to fees in a step aimed at limiting their exploitation and providing them around the clock. Noting that the total parking lots that have been subject to fees and will be subjected during the current year amounted to 8,519 parking lots in different areas of Sharjah.

In a related context, the Director of the Public Parking Department, Ali Ahmed Abu Ghazin, explained that more than 400 devices have been launched to pay for public parking fees that work with touch technology, which have been distributed in various areas of the city of Sharjah, which are in line with the advanced digital technologies in which the innovative digital scanning vehicles from the Municipality of Madinah operate. Sharjah, to enhance the efforts of its human cadres in monitoring parking violations, and providing data and statistics on parking occupancy rates and times, and the rates of use of various payment methods;
