• Calvente to the judge. "Podemos's strategy was simple: we are going to use the 'Villarejo case' for political gain"

Podemos has recognized the unfair dismissal of the former legal coordinator of the party, José Manuel Calvente, whom he falsely accused of sexual harassment after he denounced the party's accounting irregularities as well as the assembly of the 'Dina case'.

The formation led by Pablo Iglesias has reached an agreement with the lawyer in the conciliation act prior to the labor lawsuit set by the Social Court number 10 of Barcelona and will pay him the corresponding compensation.

Calvente, whose complaint has caused the 42nd Investigative Court of Madrid to investigate the alleged irregular financing of the party, sued Podemos in January of this year requesting the annulment of his dismissal.

He alleged that his fundamental rights had been violated and asked that his expulsion be declared inadmissible, since the causes alleged by the party were false.

He also demanded compensation from Podemos for having violated his right to honor.

Especially due to the public statements made by Pablo Iglesias on December 6, 2019 in which he accused him of having sexually harassed the party's lawyer, Marta Flor.

The judicial procedure has ended in an agreement between both parties that consists, first of all, that Calvente has renounced to request the annulment of his dismissal, because he has no interest in returning to work at Podemos.

Second, the party has admitted his unfair dismissal while acknowledging that the alleged causes for his dismissal did not exist.

That is to say, the sexual harassment wielded by Iglesias, among other leaders of the purple formation, never existed.

Once this issue has been resolved, Calvente will civilly and criminally claim compensation from the party for having falsely accused his former partner Flor of sexual harassment.
