The former number two of France Télévisions Takis Candilis returns to his former employer, the production company Banijay, as an advisor in charge of fiction.

Takis Candilis had announced at the beginning of September his departure from the public group, where he had been deputy general manager of the air and programs for two and a half years, to return to his former profession as a series producer.

Before France Télé, Takis Candilis was director of fiction at Banijay, the European number 3 in television production, where he was in charge of international expansion.

"In his new role as advisor, his role will be to bring co-production and premium fiction projects to Southern Europe", specifies Banijay, who wishes to accelerate its investments in fiction.

"If streaming programs (broadcast, games ... editor's note) remain our core business, we have significantly increased our efforts in fiction with our latest acquisitions," underlines Marco Bassetti, CEO of Banijay.

Banijay heads over 120 production companies in 22 countries and boasts a catalog of more than 88,000 hours of programs, including "Peaky Blinders", "Wallander", "Mr Bean" or even "Black Mirror".
