Through his speech therapist, Elias has received several tools that help him speak more fluently.

Among other things, he uses his hand and thinks of an airplane taking off.

- It means that you start slowly and then when you say the word you just say it, says Elias without stuttering at the same time as his hand in a single movement shoots away from the kitchen table. 

Around one percent of the adult population is stuttering and more men than women have the diagnosis. 

On the International Stuttering Day, October 22, Elias Eklund wants to draw attention to the diagnosis he has struggled with for eight years. He hopes that other children who stutter will feel less lonely.
