INTERVIEW

"We will continue, professor."

This is one of the strong sentences pronounced Wednesday evening by Emmanuel Macron during the national tribute to Samuel Paty, the teacher of Conflans-Sainte-Honorine beheaded after showing caricatures of Muhammad during a course of civic education.

Invited Thursday from Europe 1, Jean-Michel Blanquer, the Minister of National Education, felt that it was time to put an end to the expression "no wave", indicating a lack of reaction on the part of the hierarchy in National Education in the face of violence suffered by teachers in certain establishments.

"The expression 'no wave' I can't stand it anymore," he admits.

"It's too easy to say it's the 'no wave'. It exists, but that is not what happened there [in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine, note] and that is not the instructions that I have been giving for three and a half years ", assures Jean-Michel Blanquer.

“In this case, from the start, the principal supported the professor and teams came in support,” he notes.
