The Armenian Foreign Ministry stated that the problem of Nagorno-Karabakh can only be solved peacefully.

“Constantly speaking from positions that exclude a military settlement of the conflict, we once again emphasize that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict can be settled exclusively by peaceful means within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship - a format with an international mandate,” the statement of the Armenian diplomats says.

However, a day earlier, the head of the Armenian government Nikol Pashinyan expressed the opinion that the Karabakh conflict "at least at this stage" does not have a diplomatic solution.

The prime minister suggested that a resolution of the situation acceptable for Yerevan would not be accepted in Baku.

Along with this, he called on his compatriots "to take up arms and go to defend their homeland."

In response, Baku stated that they support the idea of resolving the conflict through negotiations in accordance with the resolutions of the UN Security Council.

Aide to the President of Azerbaijan Hikmet Hajiyev has stated that the position voiced by Pashinyan indicates that Yerevan has no intentions to settle the conflict through negotiations.

In addition, a point of view similar to that of the Azerbaijani side was expressed by the press secretary of the Turkish President Ibrahim Kalyn.

He wrote on Twitter that Pashinyan's statement about the absence of a diplomatic solution "indicates Armenia's intentions."

“It is clear who wants war.

This confirmed the correctness of Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Peace and stability will come to the South Caucasus only when Karabakh is freed from occupation, ”Kalyn wrote.

The Armenian Foreign Ministry called the statement of Baku "manipulative" and pointed to an attempt "to present the position of Azerbaijan and Turkey, which reject the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as the approach of the Armenian side."

Later, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay expressed confidence that Ankara would be ready to send military personnel to Karabakh if necessary.

“From the very first day, our president has already outlined his position.

Turkey will not hesitate, and our president will certainly not be, ”said Oktay.

The Vice President also said that it is allegedly impossible to resolve the conflict without Turkey's participation.

In turn, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had earlier called on the parties to the conflict to stop escalating confrontational rhetoric on Nagorno-Karabakh.

The Minister stressed that at the same time it is absolutely necessary to stop the hostilities and stop strikes against civilian targets.

It should be reminded that the conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh entered an acute phase on September 27.

Armed clashes broke out between Armenia and Azerbaijan.

Yerevan and Baku have blamed each other for the aggravation.

Azerbaijan announced about "military provocation" from the Armenian side.

In Armenia, in turn, they reported about the "beginning of the offensive" of Azerbaijani troops.

Martial law was introduced in both republics, and the Armenian authorities also announced the mobilization of reservists.

The parties claim that clashes continue in the Karabakh region.

The Azerbaijani Defense Ministry announced yesterday about battles in several regions.

“During the day on October 21 and on the night of October 22, hostilities in the Agdera-Aghdam, Fizuli-Jebrail and Zangilan-Gubadli areas of the front continued with varying intensity.

The enemy fired at the defensive positions of the Azerbaijani army from small arms, mortars and cannons, ”the ministry said.

Baku claims that hostilities continue along the entire front, while Azerbaijani troops "control the operational situation."

In addition, the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported about the alleged launch of ballistic missiles by the Armenian side in one of the areas where battles are taking place.

According to the department, the shelling took place on the morning of October 22.

Yerevan, in turn, refutes these statements.

According to the statement of the Armenian military, no missiles were fired towards Azerbaijan.

Along with this, the authorities of the unrecognized Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) accused Baku of a number of artillery strikes inflicted on the city of Martuni and surrounding villages.

According to the information center, there is no information about the victims.

At the same time, the NKR also reported that battles are taking place along the entire line of contact.

“At night, the situation in the zone of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan conflict was stably tense.

Artillery duels continued in some areas.

At the moment, battles of local importance are going on in all directions of the front line, ”the message says.
