The College of Engineering at the United Arab Emirates University launched the "Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering" program. The admission of students to the program began as of the current semester and 69 male and female students have registered in it, as the new program comes to keep pace with the latest scientific requirements, technological and knowledge developments for the future of the aviation industry and the labor market in the country. The head of the mechanical engineering department at the university, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, explained that the study plan for the program includes many courses and topics, including space engine design, space missions, space applications, airport organization and operation engineering, in addition to operating mechanics engineering, aerodynamics, aviation, engine and motion dynamics, and materials Manufacturing, modern designs, airframes and parts, as well as expanding scientific and theoretical research in the field of aviation.

He pointed out that the university provides a distinctive scientific and educational environment, as the college owns three laboratories specialized in the aeronautical engineering program, and supports practical study, and is equipped with all advanced modern devices and technologies to enable and qualify the student for training at various airports and companies designing, operating and maintaining aircraft and spacecraft.

Yunus noted that the aeronautical engineering program is a distinct addition to the college’s internationally accredited programs. It is for citizens, non-citizens and international students. The number of program hours is 132 hours.

For her part, Amna Rashid Al-Shamili, one of the students enrolled in the program, said: "I joined this program because of my passion in the aviation field because it is unique among the fields of engineering, and I have a strong desire to learn a lot about how engines and their systems move."

She added, "I look forward to acquiring the skills that will qualify me for a distinguished job to serve this country."

Student Ali Hamid Abdullah Al Ali said: “After launching the Aeronautical Engineering program, I submitted an application directly. It was my first dream and the reason for joining the university, and I hope to be one of those who put a mark in this field and create and innovate.”

As for the student, Saif Abu Darabi, he said: “I was and still have a great passion for airplanes and how they work, especially in the engineering side, and this program includes a group of distinguished professors in the field of engineering, and I look forward to gaining skills and experience from them.”
