October 21, 2020 The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has current accounts in three foreign countries including China, as well as Great Britain and Ireland.

The New York Times reports this, referring to an analysis of the tycoon's tax return.

Notably, the Chinese account is controlled by Trump International Hotels Management Llc, which paid $ 188,561 in taxes in China between 2013 and 2015. The revelation comes two weeks before the presidential election, as Trump and his allies try to paint the Democratic candidate, Joe Biden, as 'soft' towards China, also referring to the affairs of his son, Hunter, with Beijing.

The New York Times discovered the existence of the Chinese bank account after obtaining Trump's tax returns, containing details of both his personal activities and those of his companies.

In previous articles, the newspaper revealed that Trump had paid just $ 750 in federal taxes between 2016 and 2017. Instead, it appears that $ 188,561 in local taxes were paid through the Chinese bank account.

Alan Garten, one of the Trump Organization's attorneys, told NYT that Trump International Hotels Management had "opened an account with a Chinese bank that has offices in the United States to be able to pay local taxes. they never materialized and, since 2015, the office has been inactive ".

Garten further insisted that, "although the account remains open, it has never been used for any other purpose."
