The storm Barbara, already weakened, keeps 10 communities on alert this Wednesday,

five at an orange level

, due to strong gusts of wind of up to 120 kilometers per hour or due to accumulations of more than 100 liters per square meter in 12 hours, reports the Agency of Meteorology (Aemet) on its website.

Castilla y León continues with an orange warning (important risk) in

Palencia

due to

heavy rains

that will leave 100 liters per square meter in 12 hours in areas of the Cantabrian mountain range of the province;

Aemet warns that 120 liters per square meter can occasionally be exceeded in high areas.

In the rest of the Castilian-Leonese provinces, except Valladolid, there is a

yellow alert

(risk) for rains that could precipitate 40 liters in 12 hours or for maximum gusts of wind of 80 kilometers per hour.

Aragon has an orange alert for maximum gusts of 100 kilometers per hour in

Huesca

in points of the Pyrenees, and yellow for rains that accumulate 40 liters in 12 hours in the Pyrenees;

in

Zaragoza

the yellow level persists due to gusts between 80 and 90 kilometers per hour in the Cinco Villas.

In the northern half of the peninsula, the community of

Navarra

is on an orange warning for winds of up to 120 kilometers per hour, specifically 140 kilometers, on the Cantabrian slope of Navarra, while in the

Basque Country

there is also an orange level for winds of up to 110 kilometers per hour.

Catalonia remains on an orange alert in the province of

Lleida

due to a south wind that could reach 100 kilometers per hour in areas of the Pyrenees.

The communities of

Asturias, Cantabria, La Rioja, Extremadura

and Madrid have activated the

yellow alert

for winds of between 80 and 90 kilometers per hour or for rains with accumulated precipitation between 40 and 70 liters in 12 hours.

Aemet warns that with the orange alert there is a risk of unusual meteorological phenomena and with a

certain degree of danger

for the usual activities, and with the yellow

alert there

is no meteorological risk for the general population, although there is for some specific activity.
