Since the competition is not organized for the public and it is carried out within a fenced area, where the public does not have access, it is not to be regarded as a public event, the county administrative board writes in the press release.

The County Administrative Board's responsibility has only been to test whether the competition at Tofta shooting range is to be regarded as a public event, not to decide whether the competition is suitable from an infection control point of view.

- It is now up to the organizer, all participants, fellow travelers and officials to follow the advice and recommendations from the Public Health Agency that have applied throughout the pandemic. It is still just as important to wash your hands and keep your distance, both during the trip to and from Gotland, at the competition site and at, for example, restaurants, hotels and campsites, says Governor Anders Flanking.
