Additional measures may be needed in Uppsala if the spread of infection is not stabilized.

This was stated by state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell in SVT's Aktuellt on Tuesday.

- We have six or seven different types of measures that you can move forward with, he says.

The advice that has been in force since 20 October will initially apply until 3 November:

  • Avoid traveling by public transport or other public transport.

  • If possible, avoid having physical contact with people other than those you live with.

Sports training can be carried out for children and young people born in 2005 or later.

To be analyzed

After the two weeks, the effect of the advice should be analyzed.

If the Uppsala Region and the Swedish Public Health Agency still do not believe that the spread of infection has decreased sufficiently, there are a number of pieces of advice left that can be implemented:

  • Refrain from making unnecessary trips both within and outside the region or region.

  • Refrain from visiting people in risk groups and people living in special forms of housing for the elderly.

  • Refrain from staying in indoor environments where people gather such as shops, shopping centers, museums, libraries, bathhouses and gyms, with the exception of necessary visits to, for example, grocery stores and pharmacies.

  • Refrain from participating in, for example, meetings, concerts, performances, sports training, matches and competitions.

  • Refrain from visiting restaurants such as bars, restaurants and cafes.
