- It is now time to implement parts of the traffic plan for Ryhov that was developed in 2017. It needs to be easier to move both within and to and from the hospital area on foot, by bicycle or by bus.

This is something that is long-awaited by both employees and visitors, says Mia Frisk, chair of the regional board in a press release.

Longer bus stops

A total of SEK 70.9 million is invested in traffic in the area.

Among other things, Psykiatrivägen will be widened and supplemented with new bus stops.

At the same time, a new bus connection is being built from the Asecs area.

Outside the hospital's main entrance, a number of measures will be taken to separate different types of traffic and improve bus traffic, which is expected to increase.

Among other things, the travel route for the buses will be straighter and the stops longer.

New pedestrian and bicycle paths will be built and existing ones will in several cases be rebuilt and widened to separate pedestrians and cyclists as much as possible.

On Tuesday, the regional board approved the proposed initiative and the issue will now be up for decision in the regional council.
