“The Government of the Republic of Armenia, by Decision No. 1708-N of October 20, 2020, introduced a temporary ban on the import of end-use goods of Turkish origin.

The ban will come into force on December 31, 2020, ”the message says.

They explained that the restriction on the import of goods "pursues the goal of security", given the "facts of complicity and open support by Turkey" of the military actions "unleashed by Azerbaijan against the Republic of Artsakh."

"The ban on the import of goods of Turkish origin stops the financing of the Turkish state treasury from Armenian sources, and at the same time prevents possible penetration of possible threats into Armenia through the import of final consumption goods from a hostile country," the government added.

At the end of September, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Turkey is "actually involved" in the process in Karabakh.

In turn, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said that Turkey is not a party to the conflict in Karabakh.
