On October 20, 2020, State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi stated in Beijing when attending the UN Security Council Ministerial Video Conference on the Gulf Region Situation that the Iranian nuclear issue is an important factor affecting the situation in the Gulf region.

In the face of unreasonable suppression and even threats, the vast majority of members of the Security Council have been able to maintain an objective and fair position, safeguard the comprehensive agreement on the Iranian nuclear issue, safeguard Security Council Resolution 2231, and safeguard the international nuclear non-proliferation system.

The first phase of the resolution was completed on October 18.

All parties should continue to take a responsible attitude to ensure that any future actions are conducive to the follow-up implementation of the resolution, help to take into account the concerns of all parties, and help promote regional peace.
