With the help of intelligence information about where open drug handling occurs in Malmö, the police were able to detain seven people and seize two weapons and the equivalent of just over SEK 300,000 in cash.

The Swedish Enforcement Agency also participated in the operation and seized two vehicles and gold objects to a total value of around SEK 500,000.

- The operation has had an effect on criminals through deprivation of liberty and seizure.

Through cooperation with, among others, the Swedish Enforcement Agency, we have been able to seize and repay debts to the state, says Erik Åberg, deputy head of the local police area Malmö Söder and overall responsible for Operation Tromb.

From Hoarfrost to Thrombus

The effort is part of the work against aggravated and deadly violence in criminal environments.

- Our work is done for those who live and stay in Malmö who have nothing to do with crime.

The work for a safe and secure Malmö is done and continues all the time.

This is a way to strengthen that work, says Erik Åberg.

Insats Tromb is a continuation of the work that was done during Operation Rimfrost and which has now been transferred to regular police operations.

Of the seven detainees, three men were arrested.

The other four have now been released.
