A 39-year-old man was tried last week by the Seine-Maritime Assize Court for the murder of one of his best friends.

During the trial, the accused did not give the motive for his act, reports

Paris-Normandie

.

The facts took place during an alcoholic evening, January 6, 2016, at the home of the thirty-something in Dieppe.

That day he had shot a shotgun twice at a 43-year-old man.

Two other people were present in the apartment.

One benefited from a dismissal.

The other had himself been shot and wounded in the face because he had wanted to alert the police.

Twenty-five years of criminal imprisonment

The reasons for the accused's actions remained obscure despite the trial.

According to the Advocate General, quoted by the regional daily, “the intention of homicide has been demonstrated: because he did not achieve his goal the first time, he shoots the victim a second time.

There was a relentlessness on his part ”, declared the magistrate, who required thirty years of criminal imprisonment.

At the end of the four-day trial, the accused was finally sentenced on October 16 to twenty-five years of criminal imprisonment.
