20 October 2020Great soloists and ensembles for chamber music at the Argentina Theater; projects, reviews, young talents in the more intimate Sala Casella. A repertoire that spans centuries and embraces different genres. The Accademia Filarmonica Romana remains faithful to its usual vocation, welcomes an audience of all ages and offers diversified and stimulating cultural proposals. It is the edition with which the institution is preparing to celebrate the important milestone of the bicentenary and which, due to the uncertainty caused by the Coronavirus emergency, announces, with caution, until December with about twenty appointments on the calendar.



"The concert activity of the Roman Philharmonic Academy is also intense in the last two months of this difficult 2020 - explains the artistic director Andrea Lucchesini -: although we are aware that the evolution of the pandemic must be ready for any adaptation, we have continued to design , animated by the desire to share live music, in the belief that attending concerts is among the least risky activities for everyone's health, with the utmost respect for the necessary safety standards ".

Five concerts at the Argentina Theater with paths ranging from classical music repertoire, the twentieth century, literature, up to progressive rock.

The opening of the season belongs to I Solisti Aquilani, who on 12 November perform

On November 19, the two Palermo musicians open the concert with a tribute to Stravinskij to the point of crossing over into original reinterpretations of

progressive rock

Classical is the choice of the Prometeo Quartet which on November 23 will offer the Argentine public a program focused on Robert Schumann's chamber music.

Award-winning formation, the Prometeo is flanked by the young talent Yena Roh, South Korean pianist winner of the VII Competition "Premio Annarosa Taddei" of 2019, for the performance of the Quintet with piano in E flat major op.

Concerts and meetings in Sala Casella


The Sala Casella confirms itself as the ideal space for projects, workshops and concerts, in a more direct and confrontational relationship with the public.

Ceremoniali rhythmici kicks off on November 5th, in collaboration with

Blow Up Percussion

, a Roman ensemble formed by Flavio Tanzi, Pietro Pompei and Aurelio Scudetti, interpreter of the modern and contemporary repertoire dedicated to percussion.

Three concerts (the other two on November 26 and December 17) in which percussion is the protagonist through the works of the most interesting, innovative and often young composers of the international contemporary scene.



Formule

musica is one of the winning projects of LAZIOSound 2019, a program of the Lazio Region in support of emerging music.

Presented by the flute-only ensemble Alchimie Sonore.

On 13 November it will be possible to listen to some new songs born from the project (music by De Nisi, Maselli, Stanzione), while from the more classic repertoire

Lexico Schumann

is the new project curated by Oreste Bossini, which opens on November 15 and will take place on Sunday afternoon in six meetings until 2021. Journalist and writer, Bossini sheds light on certain aspects of Schumann's artistic personality, choosing some emblematic words of his relationship with the world, like an Ariadne's thread to follow so as not to get lost in the maze of an emotionally tumultuous music.

Each meeting is completed by listening to some pieces (mainly by Schumann, but we will also find Clara Wick, Brahms and Schubert), entrusted to young Italian performers.



New collaboration between the Philharmonic and the International Festival "The streets of Europe", an event that brings together Lithuanian artists through music in close synergy with Italian realities.

The 2020 edition arrives for the first time in Sala Casella on November 16 with Foreign Homes / Patrie Stranieri concert of the Ars Lituanica Trio, a formation in which the violin of Dalia Dėdinskaitė, the cello of Gleb Pyšniak and the accordion of Tadas Motiečius converge, promising talents from the Baltic country.



In collaboration with the cultural association "Annarosa Taddei", which in the Sala Casella will also hold the eighth edition of the international competition for young musicians "Premio Annarosa Taddei", on 2 December a concert dedicated to the lieder repertoire of Schubert, Wolf and Debussy, a repertoire now rarely heard in Italian concert halls, yet of refined beauty.

The young German tenor Eric Price is the interpreter accompanied on the piano by Emanuel Roch.



Lastly, the collaboration with the Humanitarian Society of Milan has been consolidated for years to promote young Italian talents, winners of the musical performance competition that the historic Milanese institution is allocating with a scholarship to the best students of conservatories and international music institutes.

The Roman Philharmonic is pleased to give them the opportunity to perform in concert, scheduling two appointments: on 7 November it will be the turn of the duo Simone Ceriani (violin) and Simone Anelli (piano), on 12 December the pianist Gabriele Durante, all coming from the “G .
