More than 1000 demonstrators gathered peacefully on a toll in Lagos, the economic capital of Nigeria, were dispersed Tuesday evening by "numerous" shootings, after the entry into force of a total curfew in an attempt to put down a popular movement which continues to expand across the country.

Youth protests against police violence extended to protests against power, and escalated in several large cities, including Lagos, the economic capital where a curfew has been imposed until further notice.

A massive escape took place in Beni, in eastern DR Congo.

Hundreds of prisoners fled from Kangbayi prison after an attack attributed to the ADF armed group, a Ugandan militia active in the east of the country.

Finally we continue our tour of Ivory Coast.

The second stop on this journey is Gagnoa, one of the main strongholds of the Bété people and the hometown of former President Laurent Gbagbo.

On site, residents deplore the lack of infrastructure in the city.
