As RIA Novosti reports, the study is based on an analysis of the infected, the daily increase in the tests performed and the ratio of this number.

Experts calculated the infection intensity index by determining the percentage of the number of cases in the current month in relation to the previous one.

"We can expect a decrease in the rate of increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 in early November 2020," experts say.

They added that the rate of increase in incidence will begin to decline when "the ratio of the number of infected to the number of tests performed does not change."

Thus, they explained, "if the rates are equal to the increase in tests, then the peak will be reached."

As of October 19, almost 16 thousand cases of COVID-19 were detected in Russia per day.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 1.415 million people have fallen ill in the country.

The head of Rospotrebnadzor Anna Popova said that the epidemic situation remains tense.
