The killer's relationship with a parent of a student is at the center of the investigation into the assassination of Samuel Paty, the professor killed on Friday near his college in Conflans-Sainte-Honorine.

The father of the college girl had given his phone number on Facebook in a message accompanying a video released on October 8, in which he called for mobilization against Samuel Paty after a course on the cartoons of Muhammad which, he said, had attended her daughter.

16 police custody, including five college students 

The latter, in 4th grade, was indeed part of a class in which Samuel Paty gave a course on freedom of expression on October 6, but she was absent that day, according to a source familiar with the matter.

On October 12, he broadcast on Youtube a new video targeting the teacher, where he was seen in the company of Islamist activist Abdelhakim Sefrioui.

The two men were in custody Tuesday afternoon in this anti-terrorism investigation, with 14 other people including five college students.
