The prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), Fatou Bensouda, has been on an official visit to Sudan since Saturday, October 17.
This is the first official contact between the authorities resulting from the 2018 revolution and the ICC and it is an opportunity for Khartoum and the prosecutor to concretely discuss the judgment of the crimes committed under the regime of the former leader. of the State of Omar al-Bashir.

This is how Prime Minister Abdallah Hamdok summed up his meeting on Sunday in Khartoum with Fatou Bensouda.
Later, in a press release, he recalled that
his country's “
commitment

for the achievement of justice
” was “
not only part of its international obligations
” but also responded to “
popular demands

Fatou Bensouda, for her part, mentioned a "
dual objective
" for her visit.
On the one hand, to explain the "
complementarity of the work of the Court and the Sudanese judicial apparatus on Darfur
" and on the other, to ask for "
the cooperation of the Sudanese authorities in the collection of information
" on Ali Kosheib, the Janjaweed chief,
now detained in The Hague after surrendering to authorities
in CAR in early June.
To do this, she met the Minister of Justice, the Darfuri Nasredine Abdelbari, then the number two of the Sovereign Council, General Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo, known as "

", who confirmed that the Sudanese government was ready to cooperate with the CPI, without further details.
