The Grand Prix de France, one of the six stages of the Grand Prix of figure skating, a prestigious circuit for the first half of the season, scheduled for Grenoble from November 13 to 15, has been canceled due to restrictions linked to the Covid-19 epidemic, announces the French Ice Sports Federation (FFSG) on Monday.

"The various measures taken to stem the Covid-19 epidemic, the passage of Grenoble into a maximum alert zone and the establishment of a curfew do not allow the organization of the competition in good conditions", explains the FFSG in a press release.

The French Grand Prix was to welcome the 2018 Olympic vice-champions and quadruple world ice dance champions Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron.

"We are disappointed and sad to have to give up the organization of the French Open, which we were impatiently awaiting. But the health of all those who work on this type of event is a priority", reacts the president of the FFSG Nathalie Péchalat .
