The battle for the US presidential elections, scheduled for November 3, is raging, but there are 9 states that are described as presidential that will decide the outcome of the race between Republican President Donald Trump and his Democratic rival, Joe Biden.

President Trump scored a slight victory in the 2016 election, beating Florida, Pennsylvania, Michigan, North Carolina, Wisconsin and Arizona.

Current polls show his popularity is declining in all of those six states, albeit by a slight margin in some of them.

Trump is also declining by a narrow margin in the other 3 states he won in 2016 - Georgia, Iowa and Ohio, according to the average state polls on the RealClearPolitics site.

Here's a look at these key states:

1- Pennsylvania

Biden's birthplace, the most important state in the region known as the "rust belt," and includes areas in the north-central United States, have seen decades of industrial decline.

Volunteers from the Trump campaign have flocked to the state, visiting city neighborhoods and homes.

On the Democratic side, former President Barack Obama is expected to make his first participation in the campaign Wednesday at an event in Philadelphia - the largest city in Pennsylvania - in support of his former deputy.

Big Pennsylvania cities are likely to vote massively for Biden, while the Rural West and conservative midfields are committed to Trump.

So the votes of the suburbs and regions of the Northeast will be decisive in the election battle.

Biden has a 5.6 percentage point lead, according to the RealClearPolitics average.

2- Michigan

Trump won 2016 in Michigan by a narrow margin, and the battle rages this year in the state.

Trump visited the state, which includes the Great Lakes, to confirm his efforts to restore American values, but the concern of voters is the implications of the new Corona virus on the economy and President Trump's management of the epidemic crisis.

Gretchen Whitmer, the Democratic governor of the state, frequently clashed with the president, and her decisions to impose a mandatory lockdown angered the Conservatives.

Demonstrators carrying weapons organized protests in front of the state government building this summer, and recently members of a right-wing group linked to militias have been arrested for planning to kidnap the governor and storm the state building.

According to the RealClearPolitics average, Biden has a 7.2 percentage point lead.

3- Wisconsin

Democrat Hillary Clinton chose not to campaign in the state known for dairy production in 2016, and voters punished her for that.

But Democrats this year focused on Wisconsin, and announced their national convention there, although they later held an online gathering due to concerns about the Corona virus.

Both Trump and Biden campaigned in that state, which Vice President Mike Pence and Vice Presidential candidate Kamala Harris also visited on the Biden card.

According to the RealClearPolitics average, Biden has a 6.3 percentage point lead.

4- Florida

It is the largest of the swing states and represents the pillar of the "Sun Belt" extending in the South and Southwest of the United States, which has increasing population density, is famous for agriculture and military industries, and has large numbers of retirees.

Republicans are escalating their defenses there, while Democrats accuse them of suppressing votes, especially in communities of people of color.

Voters from South America will be very important, and polls show less support for Democrats than they were in 2016. At the same time, surveys show that the elderly are distancing themselves from Trump because of his management of the epidemic.

Most experts consider Florida as a firewall for Trump, and if he breaks through, Trump will likely lose the White House seat.

By the average RealClearPolitics poll, Biden has a 1.4 percentage point lead.

5- North Carolina

This traditionally conservative state, Trump won by 3 points 4 years ago, but both parties now acknowledge the race's convergence.

The state's Democratic governor is popular, as has been praised for his balanced management of the epidemic.

Republicans organized their national convention in the state, but it ended up mostly online.

According to the RealClearPolitics average, Biden has a 2.7 percentage point lead.

6- Arizona

Arizona has been a Republican stronghold for decades, but its voters are changing as the numbers of South American nations increase and the influx of more liberal California citizens.

Conservative voters appreciate Trump's efforts to impose restrictions on immigration and build a wall on the border with Mexico.

But Trump has damaged his fortunes by repeatedly damaging the late Senator John McCain who was representing Arizona, while still leaning in his weight on state politics.

McCain's widow, Cindy McCain, has announced her support for Biden.

According to the RealClearPolitics average, Biden has a 4 percentage point lead.

7- Iowa

Trump won an easy victory in Iowa 4 years ago, defeating Clinton by nearly 10 points, but the results look close this time in the agricultural state in the northwest.

Trump held a rally in Iowa last week, in a sign that he was on the defensive in a state he was supposed to win.

By the average RealClearPolitics poll, Biden has a 1.2 percentage point lead.

8- Georgia

No Democrat has won the presidential race in Georgia since Bill Clinton in 1992, but the state has tilted toward Democrats in recent years.

Trump held a campaign rally in Georgia on Friday, in a sign that he may be in a vulnerable position there.

By the average RealClearPolitics poll, Biden has a 1.2 percentage point lead.

9- Ohio

Ohio, with its 18 electorate votes, is considered a major prize.

Trump defeated Clinton in Ohio by 8.1 points, but the polls show a close race this time in the industrial state in the Midwest.

Biden visited the state and emphasized the role he played in helping to save the US auto sector when he was former vice president.

Biden has a lead by less than 0.6 percentage point, according to the RealClearPolitics poll average.
